We’re often asked why we love Palm Springs so much. Most recently, journalist Jimmy Im talked to us for his story in the December issue of Passport Magazine. Here is a part of Jimmy’s story.
Palm Springs also sees a number of iconic annual events like The White Party and Dinah Shore Weekend. “We are in Palm Springs all the time, year round,” says Bob Hayes. With partner Jim Burba, both of whom were co-producers of Space Station 76 starring Matt Bomer (who coincidentally “came out” in Palm Springs), the gay power couple bought a second home here in 2008.
According to Hayes: “In Palm Springs, the Human Rights Campaign has a very active chapter, and Desert AIDS Project’s Steve Chase Awards Gala in the winter raises millions for AIDS research. The late Joan Rivers was a guest host two years back. And there is really nothing like being in Palm Springs during Pride weekend in November. The entire city is truly like a resort, and there is something for everyone.”
Palm Springs is a great place, and it truly has something for everyone.
